What is DuraLaq®?
DuraLaq® is our new UV-cured commercial-grade protective finish for wood flooring. It’s an innovative hybrid UV finish that provides all the benefits of an oiled finish plus the toughness of a polyurethane lacquer.
This is an optional mid-coat that we can add to our UV finishing process. It makes all our standard oil finishes extremely hard wearing whilst keeping their natural appearance.

Benefits of Our DuraLaq® Finish
Let’s look closer at the reasons why you should consider adding this option to your choice of finish. What are the benefits of this new hybrid UV lacquer?
Durability
Whilst our standard wood flooring finishes are very durable, high-traffic and commercial spaces can now benefit from the extra wear resistance of this new ultra-tough finishing option. The product that offers better wear resistance and scratch resistance than many high-traffic lacquers, and will further extend the life of our flooring under normal use. We would also recommend this product for wood flooring where shoes are being worn in the property and in homes with dogs.

Easy Maintenance
DuraLaq® is ideal for clients who would usually opt for a lacquer finish over an oil finish purely to get a tougher surface for their wood flooring. With our DuraLaq® finish, you can adopt the same simple maintenance methods as you would for an oiled hardwood floor — only you shouldn’t need to do it as often. This is a great benefit, making it much easier to maintain and spot-treat than traditional lacquered wood floors.

Natural Appearance
Unlike most lacquers, our hybrid DuraLaq® finish allows us to achieve a sought-after natural appearance, normally only achievable with our standard oil finishes.
Better Chemical Resistance and Protection Against Liquids
This new mid-coat means there’s a better seal that prevent liquids from penetrating the finish. Chemical resistance is also rated Class 5 (the highest possible rating) according to EN 13442:1999.
